This is a VERY rare, matched, set of Dellorto DHLA 48 carburetors.

This vintage set of 2 Dellorto DHLA48 carburettors has been lovingly restored to near its former glory.

It is the very rare version with 48 mm gas tubes and has not been modified throughout its working life of which is spent most of its time on a Rally Volvo PV544 (!).

Acquired by us last year, the restoration has just been finalized.

It was a nut & bolt restoration including new throttle shafts, new throttle valves, regringding the gas tubes, new needle valves and new bearings.

Of course it was finished off with new bright work where required and available and an original Dellorto factory rebuild kit with gaskets, washers and Viton o-rings.

Of course this is the only set that we have available at the moment.

These carbs currently have the following basic set-up which can not be altered:

  • Type: DHLA48
  • Butterfly valves: 8563.1
  • Idle mixture screw type: Open Springs
  • Air bleed screws? No
  • Progression holes: 3

Furthermore they currently have the following flexible set-up:

  • Chokes: 42 mm
  • Main jet: 155
  • Main emulsion tube: 7772.6
  • Air Corrector: 190

This is a vintage set of 2 Solex C.40 ADDHE carburettors which has been lovingly restored to their former glory.

As you can see in the pictures, they have been disassembled , cleaned and reassembled using new parts where required.

The work was carried out to our order by the best craftsmen that we know and consequently they have the "lighttight" butterfly valves, ensuring smooth idling.

These carbs even still have their original aluminium "tags".
These tags read 115.48.04.010.00 and 115.48.04.011.00 which allows us to determine that they were produced for 1983-and-later Alfa Romeo 2000's (the 115.48 was the Alfa Romeo Spider 2000.
This is also confirmed by the fact that the forward carburetor has a connection for a vacuum-feed for the distributor.

These carbs currently have the following basic set-up which can not be altered:

  • Type: C40 ADDHE 115.48
  • Butterfly valves: 10
  • Air bleed screws: No
  • Progression holes: 5
  • Vacuum connection: Yes

Furthermore they currently have the following flexible set-up:

  • Chokes: 32 mm
  • Main jet and emulsion tube: 155
  • Idle jet: 55
  • Pump jet volume: 0.7, vertical

There is only 1 set available.

Although these carburetors were produced for Alfa Romeo, they can of course be used on other makes of engines, provided a suitable inlet manifold is used.

This is a vintage set of 2 Dellorto DHLA40 (non-suffix) carburettors which has been lovingly restored to their former glory.

As you can see in the pictures, they have been disassembled , cleaned and reassembled using new parts where required.

The work was carried out to our order by the best craftsmen that we know and consequently they have the "lighttight" butterfly valves, ensuring smooth idling.

These carbs even still have their original aluminium "tags".
These tags read 5233A and 5234P which allows us to determine that they are the very version of the DHLA40 that Dellorto was allowed to build for Alfa Romeo.

They predate the emissions hype and consequently they give the best raw power from your 2000 cc Nord engine!

These carbs currently have the following basic set-up which can not be altered:

  • Type: DHLA40
  • Butterfly valves: 7481.1
  • Idle mixture screw type: Open Springs

The 123/ALFA-4-R has been especially designed for Alfa Romeo's 4-cylinder Nord engines.
It is suited for all basic versions as used in the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Bertone, Spider, Berlina etc.

This is the version that does NOT use vacuum-advance !

As the 123-ignition systems simply work best when combined with a Bosch Blue Coil, and because it is impossible to determine of your old coil has been overheated in the past and consequently might be past its prime, we decided to offer you a package deal of the 123-ignition + a brand new Bosch blue coil.

Specifics of the 123/ALFA-4-R distributor:
No more need to check the breaker points or replacing the condenser.

The advance curves are electronically calculated; once you have timed the distributor correctly, there is no more need to re-adjust it.

The unit has a built-in LED-light to aid timing it correctly.

As with almost all 123 systems, the 123/ALFA-4-R has a multitude of advance curves built-in which can be selected using a small screwdriver.

The 123ignition systems are, amongst others, equipped with:

  • Electronically checking and adjusting the contact angle
  • "Spark Balancing" for smooth idling
  • Automatic shut-off after 1 second in case of engine stall.
    This prevents the coil from overheating and thus extends coil life

Installation of the 123ignition.
Please read the, multi-language, manual carefully before attempting the install.
The manual will show you further information on ignition timing, advance curves and specs.
Also he installation process if clearly described in a step-by-step manner.
The manual is included in the package but can also be downloaded HERE.

Coil.
Old, used, ignition coils are often in a rather bad shape and checking the condition is virtually impossible.
Conventional ignition systems allow coils to overheat when the ignition is left on while the engine is not running.
For this reason and to provide the best package possible, we have decided to only offer this 123Ignition system together with a genuine Bosch Blue Coil which is the perfect parter for your new system.

The 123/Alfa-4-R contains the following advance curves:

  • Curve 0 replaces Bosch number 0.231.129.036 - Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova 1300-1600

Here we have a New-Old-Stock Set Dellorto DHLA 45 C with Plenum for American V8 Engines!

This is THE opportunity to marry an American V8 with creme de la creme of Italian carburetion!

This is a N.O.S. set of 2 Dellorto DHLA45C's with a Lynx plenum, ready to bolt to any standard Edelbrock or Holley "4-Barrel" inlet manifold.

It uses the exact same bolt pattern and sizes.

We recently acquired this set from the estate of an American gentleman who was very involved in Indy racing but unfortunately, we will never know what his exact intentions with this set were.

What we dó know is that this set has never seen any action, there has never been petrol / gasoline in the carburettors and the tags allows us to exactly determine what this set is.

As you can see from the pictures, the tags read 5351 and 5352 and this traces back to a matched set that was produced by Dellorto for the after-market.
It is a little know fact that, apart from an immense production to satisfy the demand coming from car- and motorcycle-manufactures, Dellorto also produced a limited number of carburetors which were sold to the retail market and allowed both tuners and private persons to Dellorto carburetors onto their projects.
This here is one of those sets.

Checking the actual jetting against the factory literature, we can come to the conclusion it remains untouched.

The current set-up is:

  • Choke: 40 mm
  • Auxiliary Venturi: 8011.1
  • Main jet: 160
  • Idle jet: 58
  • Pump Jet: 33
  • Choke jet: 95
  • Main Emulsion Tube: 11
  • Choke Emulsion Tube: 3

Luckily, almost of all of the above items is still available in a myriad of sizes and versions so please feel free to discuss your specific needs with us.

These set has been carefully stored of the past 30 or 40-odd years (it was most probably produced in the first half of the 1970's) but most of the moving parts are a bit stiff and would benefit from a loving care with some lubricant.
Apart from that we would advise you to give them a thorough going-over to make sure that everything is to your liking.

Although we would prefer to sell this set "as-is", so complete with the Lynx plenum, purchase without the plenum could be discussed.

The Gunson Digital Exhaust Gas and CO Tester is the perfect (and affordable !) tool for the DIY mechanic to measure and adjust the CO-percentage in the exhaust gases of cars, motorcycles, boats etc equipped with a petrol-driven internal combustion engines.

Allows you to measure the current CO-percentage after which you can adjust it to the required level.

This system is equipped with a pulse pump and is suitable for both leaded and unleaded petrol / gasoline.

These original Malpassi seals replce both the bowl seal as well as the filter seal in the 85 mm versions of the Malpassi / Filter King fuel pressure regulators.

This is the version with six screws in the top cover.

The version with four screws is usually the 67 mm version.
